Tears Like Rain, Tears Like Sun

They fall, not just from burden,
But from love too fierce to stay inside.
A mother’s heart spills golden rivers,
Washing us in grace, in light.
Tears that heal, that whisper hope,
That soften days worn rough and long.
Even in sorrow, love still lingers—
A melody wrapped in the hush of dawn.
I watch them turn the air to warmth,
Feel them press against my soul.
Her joy, her ache, her boundless giving—
All of it makes our hearts feel whole.
The way a mother’s tears embody these emotions is profound—they’re not just expressions of exhaustion or grief but also of the overwhelming love she carries. The beauty of joyful tears is in their duality: they hold pain, yes, but they also reflect moments of triumph, the quiet reassurance that her love has been seen and felt.
Love in this poem is active—it mends, it warms, it binds. It’s the silent force that softens the hard edges of the day and transforms the household. Joy is intertwined with this love, appearing in the quiet recognition of what her sacrifice means, in the way her tears are not just sorrowful, but deeply meaningful.
